HOME SWEET LOANS PTY LTD V MEMBERS EQUITY BANK LIMITED – QUD 399/2016 – BRISBANE

We wish to advise that we have initiated legal proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia against Members Equity Bank Limited (ME Bank).

The legal proceedings concern the publication by ME Bank of the words ‘Home Sweet Loan’ in recent advertising campaigns and we allege that such use was an infringement of our registered Trademark ‘Home Sweet Loan’ which we have owned since 2007. Our claim against ME Bank seeks relief by way of an injunction, damages and additional damages pursuant to the Trade Marks Act 1995 (Cth).

We wish to make clear to our clients that we are not in any way affiliated with ME Bank and continue to offer a wide range of home loan products from a multitude of lenders to find you the best deal for your individual needs.
